Finance Careers Overview

“Finance” as one overall term can be boiled down to one word: Funding. Because individuals, businesses and government entities all need funding to operate, the financial field includes three main subcategories: personal finance, corporate finance and public (government) finance. 

Some colleges and universities offer degrees in finance. Bachelor of Finance (B.F.) degree programs have a variety of required coursework that differ by institution but often include classes in accounting, banking, economics, markets, mathematics, quantitative methods and statistics.
