Clown

Parents prohibited his preferred career but later, he found his way to it.

FAMILY BACKGROUND

RG was born in Mexico, the third child of seven brothers and sisters. His father managed a hardware store; his mother was a homemaker (sometimes known as a housewife).

CHILDHOOD THOUGHT OF AN ADULT CAREER

Mischievous and restless as a child, RG’s early ambition was to be an artist, but his parents forbid it. “In our house there was always a “no” for everything. I was dominated by their words.”

ZIG-ZAG FROM FIRST CAREER PATH

Pressured by his parents, he enrolled in the dentistry program at college. As a dental student, he joined a television campaign to promote dental hygiene among children and came up with the idea of painting his face as a clown to make the children less afraid of the dentist’s chair. 

CAREER SATISFACTION

Encouraged by the children’s reaction, he began using his clown persona offscreen as well and soon became a full-time clown to earn his living. 

Eventually RG was invited to host his own show for children, which was later broadcast throughout Latin America.  He had more than 4.3 million followers on TikTok.
